How to Discover Your SoulApproach™
The Law of Destiny
The concept of destiny has become distorted and misunderstood in modern times. The ancient teachings associated with the spiritual science behind the mysterious Law of Destiny are now lost to the exoteric consciousness of humanity, buried under the morass of mainstream astrology, fortune-telling, superstition and “New Age” flights of fantasy.
The Law of Destiny enacted by the sages and Masters (“the wise ones”) of civilisations past was not merely preoccupied with the small affair of the individual’s life path, but that of communities, nations and the world as a whole. The role of the wise ones was, and is, concerned not only with overseeing the unfoldment of humanity but with every aspect of life on the planet, each of which has its particular destiny.
The Relationship with Dharma
People often talk about their “soul purpose,” which is what they are born to do and where they are headed in their life. The concept is quite nebulous. What a soul is and what purpose is mean different things to different people. In the East, other terms congruent with purpose are commonly adopted, such as dharma in India and fate in countries like China.
Dharma is a multifaceted word that broadly delineates the principle of how you conduct your life activities, both secular and spiritual. The focus with dharma is on the integration of living, not differentiating how you relate to your family, professional and spiritual life as separate units of experience. The central dynamic is how you express your role through these relationships in action.
Mind Synergi
With dharma, in the strictly religious sense, the emphasis is placed on living by a moral code founded on righteousness, living harmlessly with Mind Synergi.
Mind Synergi is about consciously allowing yourself to think something, then say something, and do something consistent with the original thought, all in sequence.
A simple way to explain what Mind Synergi is would be to think about going to the shops to buy some food, then telling a family member, friend, partner or roommate you are going to the shops to buy some food. You would then go to the shops to buy the food and return with the food you had said you were going to buy.
The Importance of Coherent Action
While this may appear to be self-evident and easy to do, if you examine how often you apply this consistent mode of action to each life situation, you will likely be surprised at how often you do not do this. Often, you will get stuck at the thinking stage or fail to act in accordance with the original seed thought or what you initially intended to do. On an elementary level, your destiny can be significantly affected by either adhering to this pattern of coherent action or not, regardless of your spiritual potentiality.
Living Spontaneously
The word “duty” is a simpler one we can use to explain what dharma is: doing the right thing, in the right way, at the right time, in the spirit of a correct relationship with each life situation. On a deeper level, dharma is concerned with living spontaneously from the heart, moment to moment; if you truly live from the heart, then your whole life expression can be nothing other than harmless. When you approach your life from this point or position, awareness flows unimpeded, and you are radiating from the essence of your spiritual nature.
The Challenge of Conditioning
Your life path will likely have been predominantly determined by the environmental circumstances in which you lived: where you were born and the family you grew up in, if you were fortunate enough to have lived within a family group.
On top of this, there were the social, economic, political and possibly religious factors swirling around the community you lived in, which were beyond your control to moderate or change to any degree of measure. That disparate melting pot of influences, with its infinite array of permutations, will have collectively imprinted conditioned modes of behaviour on your then malleable, developing mind.
The Influence of Education
If this was not enough, you were then sent to school, with the vague objective of acquiring knowledge so you could learn how to live constructively within society. That was the grand theory anyway, and the ultimate game plan, something you were utterly oblivious to at that nascent point. Further down the track, if you were lucky, your teacher perhaps saw glimmers of stronger potential in one or two subjects and, within the constrictions of class time resource resource-nurtured your fledgling ability in those areas.
The Pendulum of Success and Failure
Due to the typically large class sizes the modern educational system favours, the extent to which your aptitude flourished was in the realm of a lottery unless you were one of the academically high achievers who staked their claim for clear-cut success from the outset. If you were on the wrong side of academic mediocrity, this select group’s meteoric progression was both awe-inspiring and puzzling. School became a war zone of struggle, marked by a mix of defeats and victories of varying magnitudes.
And it is with this beguiling pendulum of success and failure in the educational system (and subsequently in society) that we are progressively hypnotised into believing whether we are effective human beings or not.
Clarity of Purpose
How can it be that some people, even from a young age, possess clarity of purpose, know what they want to do and demonstrate a considerable talent to excel at whatever their chosen direction is? The answer to this question is complex, as there are invariably multiple factors at play; therefore, it is not something to be casually explored here.
To be succinct, you could say their talents naturally aligned with the conventional streams of educational development. This capability then easily matched a recognised career path that society openly supported, e.g., to become a professional such as a doctor, dentist, accountant, teacher, lawyer, or scientist.
The Mystery of Genius
Then we come to a radically different category, which includes people like William Shakespeare, Mozart, Rembrandt and Leonardo da Vinci. The prodigious talent these geniuses displayed, often as children or young adults, was not immediately apparent due to their conventional educational backgrounds and arguably had little to do with their family upbringing beyond a certain point.
If we academically accept that these factors did play a notable part in their development, they do not adequately explain why they produced the extraordinary work and attained the achievements they did in their respective fields. Hidden factors seemed to be present and active in their lives. Everything points to the probability that these influencers were spiritually destined to do what they did and how they did it.
